This one-of-a-kind job fair will give conference-goers direct access to organizations, institution, foundations, agencies, and independent consultants working in the field of comparative and international education. The focus will be on the how-tos of job searching in the field.

Set up as an “open house,” the CIES 2017 Career Mentoring Expo will feature volunteer representatives from academic institutions, development agencies, NGOs, think tanks, private consultancies, and educational research organizations seated at roundtables around a meeting room. After a brief introduction of the representatives and their institutions, attendees will be invited to freely navigate the roundtables, which will be organized by job types and locations. As participants move between tables of their choosing, they will get chances to learn about organizations and career paths of interest and to ask for practical advice from those with first-hand experience working in the field. Meanwhile, potential employers will become more familiar with the deep pool of talent that CIES has to offer.

We invite organizations to join us for this unique opportunity to help conference attendees navigate routes towards careers in comparative and international education.  The objective of this event is to cater to the needs of a wide variety of CIES members, with special emphasis on students and early-career scholars and practitioners.  If your organization would like to participate in one of the Career Mentoring Expo events please contact Mariusz Galczynski, CIES Managing Director, at mariusz@cies.us.

In order to accommodate conference-goers schedules and create opportunities for more individualized mentoring, the CIES 2017 Career Mentoring Expo will take place twice during our conference.  You are invited to attend the session that is most convenient for you, either Wednesday March 8th (8:00am-9:30am) or Thursday March 9th (8:00am-9:30am).  No additional cost or advanced registration is required for attendees.
